Tabasil acts by disrupting fungal ergosterol biosynthesis through inhibition of squalene epoxidase in the fungal cell membrane at an early stage.
This inhibition causes a deficiency in ergosterol and leads to the accumulation of squalene within the fungal cells, ultimately resulting in fungal cell death.
